Sea Turtle Necropsy and Biospy Techniques

The antemortem and postmortem sampling of tissues is necessary to fully understand the causes of lesions, disease, and mortality in living and dead marine turtles. In the living animal, sampling of single or multiple tissues is referred to as a biopsy. Biopsies are collected for biological and pathological studies.
