The UF Veterinary Diagnostic Labs provide a large variety of tests for domestic and exotic species.

We offer courier pick-up service in Gainesville and nearby cities and flat-rate overnight shipping for most samples through FedEx. Please call our central receiving office at 352-294-4726 to find out more about these services or to discuss variable shipping rates for very large packages.

Anatomic Pathology
The Anatomic Pathology Service provides diagnostic services in the areas of necropsy and surgical pathology of domestic and exotic animals. Additional specialty services are offered by dermatopathology

Clinical Pathology
The Clinical Pathology Service performs hematology, chemistry, endocrinology, urinalysis, fluid analyses, and cytology tests for domestic and exotic species.

Microbiology, Parasitology & Serology
The Microbiology, Parasitology & Serology Service provides results to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of infectious disease. We isolate bacteria and fungus from a variety of animals. We recover parasite ova and oocysts and identify internal and external parasites. We offer in-house PCR and serology testing and are also familiar with a wide range of serologic tests offered all over the nation.

Racing Laboratory
The Florida Racing Laboratory is an accredited (ISO 17025:2005) analytical toxicology laboratory that tests samples for prohibited substances and also participates in research, education, and training.  To contact the Racing Lab please call 352-392-2238.

Research Laboratories
The University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine has diverse areas of faculty research, and some research labs accept samples for clinical diagnostic testing, for example zoo medicine infectious disease testing.
